General Membership Meeting

Meeting called to order at 0821 hours by Vice-Chairman Portune. Roll was called. A quorum of voting members was present.


Vice-Chairman Portune asked everyone to remove their hats for a moment of silence for America’s Prisoners of War, her Missing in Action, those Killed in Action, and our troops deployed around the world.


Members were asked to indicate if they received their minutes of the last meeting (January 2006). A motion was made to accept the minutes of January 29, 2006, general membership meeting as written. Motion carried.



  • TREASURER REPORT:(Mr. Lott) A summary of current account status was presented to the group and no questions were posed.

    COMMITTEE REPORTS:



  • BY-LAWS: (Mr. Northrop) By-Laws committee stated the need for our future meetings to be held in conjunction with Camaraderie Night due to the lack of space for Sunday mornings. They also reminded the group of the serving order durning our food sale deliveries (General Pop., group members, executive body).

  • NON-PROFIT: (Mr. Singler) Mr. Singler stated his frustration concerning the lack of response on the part of the VVnW.

  • SCHOLARSHIP:(Mr. Leavitt) Nothing new to report.

  • SOCIAL (June 10, 2006): (Mr. Northrop) The Scholarship Social is scheduled for Jun 10th. Keep in mind that we will be requesting donations for this event. Keep that in mind as the time draws near.

  • FOOD SALE/FUNDRAISER: (Mr. Lott) Thank you everyone for all your help. We pulled off a great sale without any major problems. It was only because of all the hard work on everyone's part that this event ran so smoothly. Thank you again.

  • COLOR GUARD: (Mr. Caffale) Nothing to report at this time.

  • CAMARADERIE NIGHT: (Mr. Faison) Our next camaraderie night will be held in conjunction with our next meeting.

  • R.E.A.L. CHOICES: (Mr. Stipe) Team 'C' will have kids on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. We will inform the group when we will be accepting new members, and the training process.

  • STAMPS FOR SOLDIERS: (Mr. Leavitt) Nothing new to report at this time.

  • GRANTS: (Mr. Langnese) Mr. Langnese informed the group that he has received a new address to write to a foundation in Marin County, and he will be taking care of that this month. He also stated that he is waiting to hear back from the San Rafael Elk's Club.
    .

    OLD BUSINESS

    - The issue about sending phone cards to the soldiers in the Middle East was tabled until a later meeting.


    NEW BUSINESS

    - Operation:Mom is scheduled for May 20th, 2006.

    - The group welcomed new probationary members: Mr. Ebbert, Mr. Marshall, and Mr. Uribe.

    - We extended out thanks to Mr. Jay Dicker for his help so that we could hold this meeting. Thank you again, Sir.




    CLOSURE: A motion to close the meeting was made, motion carried and meeting closed at 0841 hours.
