Chairman Mr. Northrop called the meeting to order at 8:05 hrs. Roll was called, 32 members were present, a quorum. 3 members were excused and 5 members were absent. Appropriate sponsorship 'Debra Sheldon' and 'Gloria Godchaux' from Operation:Mom was present.

Members were asked to remove their hats for a moment of silence for the American Prisoners of War, those Missing in Action, those Killed in Action, and for our troops deployed around the world.

Members were asked to indicate if they received their minutes of the last months meeting. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes from the May meeting. A vote was taken and passed to accept the minutes.

TREASURER'S REPORT: (R. Portune): There was no movement in our account. We have a balance of $351.86 of this money $200.00 is for the hat fund leaving the group $151.86 in usable funds.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:


BY-LAWS: Mr. Hagan: we have received the 2009-2010 By-Laws, and will be passed out to all members.

FOOD SALE: Mr. Portune: the next food sale narrative, along with a tentative product list has been completed and submitted for approval. This food sale will start on August 1 and run through August 31. Delivery date is September 27, 2009.

SOCIAL: Mr. Portune: the Scholarship/Operation:Mom social this last weekend was a success. Everyone had a great time.

COLOR GUARD: Mr. Baer: there is nothing to report. The Color Guard shall be stood down, until the new Chairman has been appointed. The group would like to recognize and thank, Mr. Baer for his hard work in the last year, as the Chairman for the Color Guard committee.

STAMPS FOR SOLDIERS: Mr. Schuhmacher: we have mailed out 25,000 used stamps this last month. The stamps for Soldiers program was stod down, until the new Chairman has been appointed. The group would like to thank Mr. Schuhmacher, for the great job he has done as Chairman.
(We would like to clarify that the Stamps for Soldiers program is used stamps still on envelops. These stamps are peeled off envelops, and are used a therapy for wounded soldiers.)

SCHOLARSHIP: Mr. Leavitt: the Scholarship Committee has been stood down, until the new Chairmans has been appointed. The group would like to thank Mr. Leavitt, and the Scholarship Committee for the great work they did on this worthwhile program.

CAMARADERIE NIGHT: Mr. PORTUNE: the last camaraderie night was a success. Your out going Executive Body has arranged for a special movie for the July 25th camaraderie night. The movie is "Taking Chance" staring Kevin Bacon. This is a good one, don't miss it. The camaraderie night committee has been stood down until the new Chairman has been appointed.

REAL CHOICES: Mr. Renteria: In June, a notification was sent that all statewide mentoring programs are on stand down until further notice. The training classes shall continue. There will be a notice of the next training. The group would like to thank Mr. Renteria and Team-C for their work on this worthwhile program.

TAB'S FOR TOT'S: Mr. Sanders: this committee is to be stood down, until a new Chairman is appointed. The group thanks Mr. Sanders for the work on this worthwhile program.

GRANTS: This committee is stood down until a new Chairman has been appointed. Although Mr. Singler has gone home the group would like to recognize the amount of effort Mr. Singler put forth on the groups behalf. Thank you Ron.

PRESENTATION BOXES: Mr. Roberts: the photo-type for the RUN FOR THE PEN pin, for the upcoming motor cycle run, was presented. This year the pins can be purchased by the group members. Numerous presentation boxes were given to V.V.G.S.Q. Sponsors and guest at our 23rd annual Scholarship Social and Operation:Mom's 7th Packing Day on June 27, 2009.



OLD BUSINESS:
There was no old business.


NEW BUSINESS

Gloria Godchaux of Operation:Mom stated, "The packing day went very well". the lady's of Operation:Mom love the room setup and the way the packing went.

This month we has one member parole, Mr. Uribe. The group wishes him well. We have one new member, Mr. Basile. He gave a brief statement. Mr. Basile is Army.

There was a motion to adjourn the meeting and seconded. The motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 0900 hrs.
