General Meeting
October 26, 2008

Chairman Mr. Northrop called the meeting to order at 8:20 hrs. Roll was called, 35 members were present; a quorum. Eleven members were excused and no members were absent and an appropiate sponsorship was present, Debra Sheldon SAI and Gloria Godchaux from Operation MOM.
Members were asked to remove their hats for a moment of silence for the American Prisoners of War, those Missing in Action, those Killed in Action, and for our troops deployed around the world.
Members were asked to indicate if they received their minutes of the last months meeting. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes from the September meeting. A vote was taken and passed to accept the minutes.
TREASURER'S REPORT: (R. Portune) the expenditures were explained. We have a balance of $00.00. BR>

BY-LAWS: Mr. Hagan: Nothing to report.
FOOD SALE: Mr. Portune: The food sale was a great success. Thank you all for a job well done.
SOCIAL: The Operation Mom's packing day will be on November 1st please be there at 8AM. Reminder Please bring two sodas to this event one for you and one for a guest.
COLOR GUARD: Mr. Baer: Practice was scheduled.
STAMPS FOR SOLDIERS: Mr. Schuhmacher: Nothing to report. We would like to clarify that the stamps for soldiers program is used stamps still on envelopes. These stamps are peeled off envelopes and are used as therapy for wounded soldiers.
REAL CHOICES: Mr. Renteria: Nothing to report.
GRANTS: Mr. Singler: Gave a report.
TAB'S FOR TOT'S: Mr. Sanders: We are collecting quite a few tabs and every thing is moving along fine.
TOY PROGAM: Mr. Renteria: This program is moving along fine.

For the five boxes we donated to the 66th 508th reunion. The boxes went to Veterans and active duty soldiers.
OLD BUSINESS:
Gloria from Operation Mom talked about the Operation MOM packing day on November 1st and Operation Mom's will attend the Run for the Pen Motorcycle Poker Run on November the 8th. This event is presented by the Iron Pigs Motorcycle Cube and the V.V.G.S.Q.
NEW BUSINESS
Two members have finished their probationary period, Mr. Byres and Mr. Holloway. A vote was taken and both were voted into the group.
A vote was taken for our next camaraderie Night movie. The movie will be "Hamburger Hill". This event will take place on November 29th.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting and seconded. The motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 AM.
