General Membership Meeting

Meeting called to order at 0815 hours by Chairman Renteria. Roll was called. A quorum of voting members was present.

Chairman Renteria asked everyone to remove their hats for a moment of silence for America’s Prisoners of War, her Missing in Action, those Killed in Action, and our troops deployed around the world.

Members were asked to indicate if they received their minutes of the last meeting. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes from the September 2006 meeting. Motion approved.


TREASURER REPORT: (Mike Northrop) Issue of Ranch order discussed. Sponsor Sheldon shall investigate and report findings. Issue tabled pending....

Committee Reports:



BYLAWS: (Jeff Biggs) Corrected copies of VVGSQ's Constitution and Bylaws were distributed to all appropriate individuals.

NONPROFIT: (Ron Singlar) The nonprofit committee shall stand down herewith.

FUND RAISER: (Mike Northrop) Ideas for new fundraising products were presented.

SOCIAL: Planning completed and paperwork perfected. We await the Saturday. We commend all members save one for contributing to this event.

COLOR GUARD: (Gio Caffale) Nothing to report at this time.

CAMARADERIE NIGHT: (Larry "Popeye" Faison) Nothing to report at this time.

R.E.A.L. CHOICES: (Wolf Stipe) Reminded group to show up if you're on the list. Banquet held October 21st, as Lieutenant Crittendon (ret.) was presented with a choice ring.

STAMPS FOR SOLDIERS: (John Warren) Eight thousand stamps are prepared for mailing.

GRANTS: (Jeff Langnese) Nothing to report currently.

HOLIDAY TOY PROGRAM: (Wolf Stipe) We're looking for candy donations. Narrative not yet signed. Got green light for RC donations. Volunteers to collect donations in RC are Barton, Diggs, "Popeye", Hagan, Miller, Northrop, Wells, and Sponsor Sheldon.



Old Business:



Mike Northrop informed the general membership about the meeting with veteran administrators who facilitate the CAT -5 program in West Virginia.


New Business:



A motion was made and seconded to donate $500 to Swords to Plowshares. Motion approved.

A motion was made and seconded to donate $1,000 to the Christmas Toy Program. Motion carried.

New sponsor Print Supervisor Wilderson approved. A hearty VVGSQ welcome to you.

New membership candidates introduced: Peterson (Air Force) and Tupling (Navy).

We welcomed two new voting members: Morris and Jones. Love peace and keep your powder dry, gentlemen. And take pleasure in wearing your new blue covers and using your activity cards.

Kudos to Ron Singler. Nicely noted, Ron. Thank you.





We adjourned at 0912 hours. All are reminded to inform the secretary of cell/dorm changes.
