COMMITTEE REPORTS :

BY-LAWS:

Mr. Harry Barton: We will discuss the proposed changes under Old Business.

FOOD SALE:

Mr. Fernando Lemus: The last day for food sale forms pick up is today. The Trust forms will be submitted on November 9, not November 3 as printed on the forms. 10% of the net will go to the IWF. Some of the runners need to be more visible when going around picking up forms. We have some $32,000 in sales. The proceeds from this sale will be split 50-50 between the Toy Program and Operation Mom. The delivery day will be Sunday, December 5.

VIG OFFICE:

Mr. Ronald Self: No report, excused for a visit.

COLOR GUARD:

Mr. Stanley Baer: There is no Run-to-the-Pen event scheduled for this year, we have no commitments at this time. There is no news on getting new clothing for the Color Guard. On other news, Mr. Butler and our other comrades in the Machine Shop did a wonderful job of casting, shaping, and polishing our new eagle flag ornament. Thank you.

TV RECEPTION:

Mr. Caffale: The free staff is going on vacation and have not heard anything from our outside volunteers. The bids for replacing our outdated equipment have expired and they need to be redone. We need new quotes. In addition, the funds are on hold for now.

HISTORIAN/WEBSITE:

Mr. Kevin Hagan: Nothing to report at this time. Mr. Spillman has volunteered to be a part of this committee.

ST. JUDE’S RANCH:

Mr. Baer: The program is not going very well. We have received three cards to date. Posters are up in North Block and will be up in H-Unit as well.

STAMPS for SOLDIERS:

Mr. Pete Rooke: We have problems with the receptacles in North Block. I will set up a new plastic container like the one for the tabs.

CAMARADERIE NIGHT:

Mr. John Warren: On Saturday, October 30, seven members watched Taking Chance. As a reminder, there will be a special camaraderie event for Thursday, November 11 at 1200 hrs. It is Veteran’s Day and it is fitting that we should get together on that day. The movie will be A Bridge too far. This is a 3-hour movie, so we will be starting the show no later than 12:30 pm. Lt. Evans will join us on that day.

R.E.A.L. CHOICES:

Mr. Harry Barton: Nothing new to report.

TAB'S FOR TOT'S:

Mr. Rooke: We need new signs made. We have some 20 lbs. ready for shipping. Everything is looking good.

TOY PROGRAM:

Mr. Kevin Hagan: The narrative for the 22nd Annual San Quentin Holiday Toy Program has been resubmitted for approval with the Santa suit paragraph removed. Letters to prospective donors have been mailed out. The toys will be distributed on December 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, and 25th.

PRESENTATION BOXES:

Mr. Chris Schuhmacher: Let us start planning for Operation MOM.

OLD BUSINESS:
Chairman Lemus asked if there was any Old Business.

Mr. Barton took the floor and introduced the proposed changes to the By-Laws. After much discussion and time, Lt. Evans asked that the matter be tabled and discussed at our next meeting. He was going to get together with the By-Laws committee and hash out the proposed language. Then Mr. Warren will type up the proposals and pass them out to all members for study prior to coming to the meeting. Note: Mr. Evans met with the By-Laws committee on Thursday, November 4. The language has been ironed out and Mr. Warren will have the proposals out to all members soon.

NEW BUSINESS
Chairman Lemus opened the floor to any New Business.

One probationary member was voted in by a majority vote. A big WELCOME ABOARD goes out to Mr. Paul Stauffer.

Chairman Lemus put forth a proposal to change the day of the meetings to Saturday. After a quick discussion and disapproval by our sponsor and volunteer present, the matter was removed from the floor.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mr. Spillman and was seconded by Mr. Parker. A vote was taken and the motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 0950 hrs.

NEXT CAMARADERIE NIGHT: Thurday, November 11, 2010. Bring your snacks!

NEXT GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: Sunday, November 21, 2010.
